How to fix the carpet on car sub box?

Johnny ` asked:
My friend sold me his 2 12′ ported subwoofer box and everything is perfect except the one side the carpet is ripped all the way down. Is there a way to fix it? I don’t want to buy a box at the store because they are 250$ + and i don’t have enough time to make my own (plus i’m really bad at doing the measurements and all that) Please help!

The sub is 14 vac hooked into a 20 fuse in my fuse box my mp3 player is then hooked up into the audio in and the sub is then hooked up to my car stereo using the audio out. It works fine except there is a strange clicking noise that remains constant and changes if i give the car gas while driving or if im in neutral. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?

What’s the difference between a Car and Truck subwoofer box?
Filed Under Car Audio | Leave a Comment
Aaron asked:
I would like to know exactly what the difference is. I have a Jeep Cherokee, but most of the subwoofer boxes for Trucks/SUV’s don’t have a big enough mounting depth for my subwoofers. I am looking at a car subwoofer box that actually fits my subs. Should I be looking at Truck boxes or does it really matter?

I have a band pass box that I used to have in a jeep liberty, but now I want to move the whole system into a car. Will a band pass box do any justice, or should I swap it out for a closed/ ported box?

Okay, So I want it ported and it needs to be 5 Cubic Feet. And the only requirement I want it to have is it needs to be 40″ Long, but I don’t care about the width. What size wood do I need to get from the Lumber store to build this box?
Also, the sub is one MA Audio HK15X2 4000 Watt Sub

Question Man asked:
I have a mini van and would like to start using digital to analog converter so that we get over the air tv in our car, for the kids on long trips. Many of the converter boxes are rated 12v. I have some extra adapters (actually old cell phone chargers) that I can strip and splice onto the tv power input.

I was wondering if anyone has done this already? Will it work? What are some issues that may arise?
The converter box is 12 volts DC, and of course the car’s electrical system is 12 volts DC. I was just wondering if there are surges that may damage the equiptment?
