How can I get the most acceleration out of my car? (shifting wise)?
Filed Under Maintenance & Repairs | Leave a Comment
My cousin and I have different cars, but the engine is the same. My car has a better gear box and it’s more airodynamic and about 200 kg heavier. His car’s 98 HP and mine is 110 HP. I got a top speed of 220 km and he has 195 km. When we’re on the highway, he can’t catch up to me, but when we drag race (first & second gear) he always beats me. I know my car can perform better, but I don’t know how to make it do that. Am I not shifting right? The max HP of my car is at 6000 rpm, I get it upto that RPM (6500 red line), press the clutch, give a little gas and shift up and press the gas again. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to make my car perform better in the lower gears.

What would you build your Soap Box Car out of? And how would you decorate it?
(For those who do not know: A Soap Box car is a “gravity” fueled contraption, made of lightweight materials, used to race downhill with. First to the finish line wins. )
And here we go. At the start we have Boots, LastManDancing, and Zinntwinnies. It’s off to a nice start. Oh, but wait LastManDancing crashes going over the first hill…ohhh that’s gotta hurt!! Sorry LastManDancing, maybe next race. Boots and Zinntwinnies are well into the the race now, heading into the 3rd hill. It’s neck to neck. Who’s gonna win?! Oh, Zinntwinnies takes the lead coming out of the 4th hill. The bubblegum is holding nicely! Boots must have gotten a sudden burst of courage and is creeping back up to Zinntwinnies. Good show. But wait, what is that? Is that a rocket? Oh noooo, surely Boots is doomed!! They’re going into the last hill folks. Surely this race is over. But wait, Zinntwinnies takes a look behind her and Boots pours on the charm. Ahhh folks, just look at those eyes! Aren’t they adorable?! Uh-oh, Zinntwinnies is slowing down for a closer look. Wait a minute! Boots was faking! He takes the lead and crosses the finish first!! Now that was tricky! Good job Boots!

Lamborghini – the Ultimate Performance Car
Filed Under Cars | Leave a Comment
The high performance Lamborghini sports car is very popular for its aggressive look and speed. Lamborghini produces the world’s best and exciting sports cars. Some of the best known Lamborghini S.P.A. models are the Diablo, the Countach, the Gallardo and the Murcielago.
In 1963 Ferrucio Lamborghini founded the car company and located his factory in an Italian village Sant’Agata Bolognese. Though initially he was a tractor manufacturer, he developed interest in sports cars and after seeing high performance cars like Ferraris and Maseratis he built his own sports car the Lamborghini. Lamborghini, an independent Company after becoming bankrupt in 1978 was bought by Chrysler and became a subsidiary of German Audi AG in the year 1998.
Murcielago R-GT’s Le Mans version is considered as the fastest Lamborghini with 370 km/h. speeds . The Murcielago LP640 is considered as the fastest street model from Lamborghini with 340 km/h. speeds. Both Lamborghini models have V12 engine and are above 6000 cc. The old models of Lamborghini like the Diablo, the Countach and now the current model Murcielago have the familiar scissor doors rotating forward and up on hinges near the front door. Till 1989 all the Lamborghini models were produced with at least a V8 engine. Most of the Lamborghini models have the legendary V12 engine, the new model Gallardos have V10 engines. A low stance of the Lamborghini car has increased aerodynamic qualities with big tires digging into tarmac. The qualities of Lamborghini make it a perfect performance car. Driving a Lamborghini is like driving an F-1 race car and no special training is required. Though a Lamborghini is costly, still many people enjoy the thrill in its unforgettable driving experience with pure power and speed on race tracks or highway. The car has superb acceleration, high performance through the turns and runs in a safe environment.
Lamborghini Mucealago, named after a bull, has special features with 640 BHP, 6.5 l V12 engine, 665 Nm torque and a 4 wheel drive. The car reaches 100 km/hr. within 3.4 seconds and when the foot is kept on the gas pedal, this car will go non stop at 340 km/h. The 12 cylinder engine has a gas tank which can carry 100 liters. The traditionally designed car has 2 doors, 2 seats coupe and mid mounted engine. Gear box is placed in the front with optimal weigh distribution 42% front and 58% rear with special effects on braking, handling and traction. The carbon fiber body ensures the security of Lamborghini with roof, steel doors, tubular frame made of steel alloy and structural parts made of carbon fiber. Power vacuum, ventilated discs, aluminium alloy calipers, carbon ceramic brakes with front rear 6 piston break calipers are the salient specifications of the car.
Lamborghini Gallardo is considered the world’s tenth fastest car. This entry level car is the first of its kind with a huge Lamborghini V10 engine producing 520 horsepower. The engine takes 13.65 seconds to go from a speed of 0 to 100 km per hour. The Gallardo also takes 4 seconds, to go from 0 - 60 mph making it a faster model than the Murcielago.

Learning About Sports And Betting On It The Simplest Way
Filed Under Home Business | Leave a Comment
Major sporting events had always been the subject of mild to serious betting. Anybody who is an avid follower of a team or an athlete would likely support them in every way possible, including betting. Betting on the outcome of a sporting event started to be merely for fun, until it grew into a real big time situation.
Bookmakers, casinos, and other similar institutions have made international sporting events even more exciting with the addition of betting lines and opportunities. Different sporting events have now become a worldwide gambling affair.
There are different styles of bets that can be made in a relatively simple sports match. These styles are devised so as to gain a relatively fair advantage on the playing field. To give you a good background on the kinds betting and how each works, read on:
1. Simple Bets. This is the simplest type of betting there is. Out two teams or two athletes competing, you just have to select the winner. You win if you have chosen the right team or person winning the game.
2. Special Bets. Special bets vary so much as to what the sporting event is. If it is, say football, an example of a special bet is which team would get the first goal? Or if it is boxing, it could be on what round will be the first knockdown of the game?
3. Handicap Bets. This is the betting system as employed by casinos and bookmakers, and is taken advantage of by sports arbitrage systems. On this betting system, a team or an athlete who is supposed to be the underdog in the game is given a certain point advantage. It could also be implemented the other way around, wherein the advantaged team is subtracted a certain number of points. You bet on who wins the game, minus the advantage points agreed upon.
4. Position Bets. This is mostly employed in a race, mostly of horses. Usually, players would place a bet on the first two horses that would win the race. It is also possible to just bet on the first one which will finish the race.
5. Combined Bets. Combined bets means that you are betting on different situations and combining them as one bet. You are going to win if and only if you get all your bets right. Otherwise, you lose the bet.
6. System bet. System bet is like combined bet, but each event is going to be an individual bet, and not a combined one. You need not get every situation to win. Every event that you get right is a win.
7. Exact Results Bet. Using this method means you are betting on the exact score outcome of a particular game. This is usually used in football or soccer, as the scores tend to be less than ten most of the time. This is mostly seen on international sporting events only.
8. Long Term Bets. This type of bet, as its name suggests, means that the bet holds for an extended period of time. This type is mostly used in international car racing events like the Tour of France.
Betting on a sports event could be very fun. And it should exactly be just that. It should be just for the sake of having fun. Watching a sporting event is already exciting, and even more so if you have a bet on the line.

Lamborghini in a Bottle, Baby (well, a Box)
Filed Under Gifts | Leave a Comment
What’s the first thing any self-respecting footballer, movie star or business mogul gets when he makes it big? That’s right; a supercar. And then a supergarage. Few things turn heads like the a sleek and powerful Lamborghini ticking over while the lights are on red – apart from the sound of the throttle opening up when they go green.
For most of us, though, the chance to get behind the wheel and really see what they are capable of is a distant dream. But you don’t have to actually own one to really put it through its paces. How about the chance to take the controls for a few hours on a genuine racing circuit? Well, that’s exactly what GettingPersonal.co.uk are offering in their driving experience days range, and it sure would make a V10, 500bhp birthday gift for him!
This supercharged Lamborghini Thrill Driving Experience - Gift Pack experience day gift lets the lucky recipient take a Lamborghini Gallardo (worth £130,000) around one of several UK circuits at top speed. And so he gets the most out of it, the experience starts with some on-circuit racecraft training with a professional racing driver.
The whole experience is rounded off in the passenger seat as the pro puts the car – and possibly the recipient’s nerve – through its paces.
For £159 you get not only the thrilling drives but also a sleek personalised presentation pack that will long outlast the skidmarks he leaves behind.
Go on - give someone a driving experience day they’ll never forget…

Does the lack of media coverage for the Indy Car Series bother you ?
Filed Under Media & Journalism | Leave a Comment
My hometown paper. Atlanta Journal Constution, only has paragrah for on the last page under the “Briefly” section. Most times they have the box score. But they hardly ever pick up an AP story about the IndyCar Series. And yet they have 3 pages of Nascab stuff every monday and friday, and 1 page to 1/2 a page the rest of the week.
And the USA Today coverage of the INDY 500 was Pathetic. And the only time Sports illustrated, The Sporting News, ESPN the Magazine, and ESPN actually covers ANY bit of Indy Car Series news its about the Indy 500 or a fatality.
thats just a few of the media outlets that continue to ignore Indy Car racing, yet put out “news” about the Neckcar series !
shame on you all sportsmedia outlets
how bad is the coverage in your in market on the TV, Radio and in the newspaper ? aren’t you sick and tired of it ? Do you think it will take a CCWS merger(the IRL buying what they want of the CCWS or CCWS going bankrupt again?) for some coverage ?
